After 2 days of rain, and being stuck in the house waiting for our air conditioning to be repaired it was time to escape. But to where? I didn't want to go too far, just wanted a day out and away from the house. So, it was off to Lookout Farms.
When we first got there Kyle and Hailey saw the train and were so excited to get on. We sat and they debated back and forth: "This train is Percy." "No, this train is Thomas". I think we all agreed the train should be Rosie because it was pink.
As soon as they finished their lunch it was off to the play area running, jumping,
and climbing on everything.
When they saw the caterpillar train and darted toward it in excitement. There are no parents allowed on the caterpillar train. They LOVE trains, look how happy they are in the picture.....
Yeah, well Hailey didn't like it so much. She cried and called out "Mama" most of the ride. I have to admit, even though I felt badly she was looking for me, I did get a chuckle out of it. How could she not like the ride???
After a hug and a kiss it was off to the tree house;
and down the slide.
Well, down for Kyle anyway. It took a little while for Hailey.
She kept getting out of the slide and checking the view, but eventually she did make it.
Then it was off to the busy bee learning center.
But, we were sidetracked by the goats.
and then the bounce house! Kyle had his shoes off and was in there before you could finish telling him it was OK to go.
Hailey wanted to go in. She took her shoes off and everything....
but decided not to after all. While Kyle jumped, Hailey balanced.
Kyle would not let his little sister show him up though, he could balance and get across too!.....with a little help from Mommy.
Then it was off to the train again. Kyle called out to the park: "choo-choo, all aboard" and kids came running. Not Hailey though. She wanted to stay with me.
Kyle made a few friends at the park. One friend, Will sat in front of him. They talked back and forth about how they were friends. Let me tell you Hailey was NOT having it! Yup, she was JEALOUS. She kept hollering "no he is not your friend. He is my Kyle". She was upset when the train left. She was even more upset that Kyle went on the ride twice. He invited her to go but she wasn't having it. She just kept telling him "when you get off you play with me!"
Being the good brother he is, Kyle took off and played with Hailey as soon as he got off the train.
Then it was back to the busy bee center where we actually learned about bees. We read about them, and got to watch a little video about them as well.
After a fun little lesson it was off to the haystack. We pretended it was a hive and we were the bees. Another little girl even came to play with us.
Hailey wasn't her biggest fan. I have to say. I thought when the kids got older that Kyle might be hard on the guys Hailey will want to date, but I think it may be vice versa in the DeVincent home =)
She was VERY upset when Kyle took off into the maze with the other little girl.
Let me tell ya, he went through that maze several times like it was nothing! I saw one woman get lost several times, Kyle was a little Magellan. Until he had to find me, then there was a little cheating. I will admit though, I needed him to find me to lead me out.
There was a little more playing and then it was time to go.
We were off to the train.
I loved seeing his little face light up when he saw the train coming.
The wait wasn't perfect, Hailey did fall and scrape her knee. She took it like a champ though. We rubbed some love on it and hopped on the train.
However, that scrape was really just the beginning of the end. The train stopped and the conductor announced that the stop was where we could pick peaches. Kyle REALLY wanted to go. Hailey was a little upset about the decision.
Kyle started picking right away.
Hailey's mini meltdown didn't phase him in the least. Lets be honest this was her umpteenth one of the day. I think we were both kinda' over it.
Kyle was loving picking peaches and I was loving watching him.
He was on the hunt for the perfect peaches.
I was determined to capture him climbing and picking.
Don't worry, Hailey was still with us. Dealing with her terrible two moment.
Then it was time to get back on the train and head home. Hailey was fine once we got back on the train by the way. Laughing and smiling as if she didn't bother everyone in the orchard.
Kyle carried the bag of peaches he picked for Grandma and Grandpa.
Before I knew it, it was 5pm. Closing time. We had been there all day! The babies really enjoyed themselves. On the way home (before they passed out) they talked about their favorite parts of the day and telling me they want to go back.
Lookout! Lookout Farms. The DeVincents will be back! =)

I didn't know they had peaches, and I had actually heard that Lookout Farm was closed! Now that I know these things, we will definitely be there, too!
