Elmo..a Caillou

I know it is horrible to admit but my son loves TV. It is winter here in New England so staying in the house with 2 babies is pretty much what we do. Granted we do get out of the house..but sometimes when one is up the other is grumpy and tired. It is not always easy or convenient to get out of the house.

We play games and read books, do puzzles, paint and color with crayons. But, we also watch TV. Kyle LOVES Elmo and Caillou. You know when he just wants to chillax because he parades around the house saying "Elmo, a Caillou". In fact as I write he is laying in my room watching Caillou falling asleep, he went in about 10 minutes ago while I was feeding Hailey her bottle to try and get her to take a nap (and successfully did).

I will be the first to admit we watch way too much TV but a lot of the time we aren't even watching it. I always have it on as background noise as we do not have a stereo or anything up here for me to play music.

So, Elmo and Caillou are his favorite and when he wants to watch it and walks around the house requesting Elmo and Caillou I think it is adorable. Another brightside: I know what theme his birthday party will be..it was Elmo last year so this year..CAILLOU =)

In My Daughter's Eyes

In my daughter's eyes I am a hero
I am strong and wise and I know no fear
But the truth is plain to see
She was sent to rescue me
I see who I wanna be
In my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes everyone is equal
Darkness turns to light and theworld is at peace
This miracle God gave to me gives me strength when I am weak
I find reason to believe
In my daughter's eyes

And when she wraps her handaround my finger
Oh it puts a smile in my heart
Everything becomes a little clearer
I realize what life is all about
It's hangin' on when your heart has had enough
It's giving more when you feel like giving up
I've seen the light
It's in my daughter's eyes

In my daughter's eyes I can see the future
A reflection of who I am and what will be
Though she'll grow and someday leave
Maybe raise a family
When I'm gone I hope you see how happy she made me
For I'll be there
In my daughter's eyes

I cook, I cook.

Early this morning, after everyone had breakfast Hailey was having a meltdown. I brought her into my room to cuddle and calm her down. I could hear Kyle opening and closing the drawers in the kitchen, and knew he was up to something but really was not concerned. Then he came in the room and said "I cook, I cook" Which usually means he is hungry and would like to cook something. As I walked out I asked, "are you hungry? You want to cook?" He ate I was confused why he would be hungry. He simply said "no" and took my hand and led me to the living room. Where I found a wonderful feast waiting. LOL.

He then handed me and Hailey each a spoon as well as had one for himself and we ate the wonderful meal he made (LOL)

I know for sure that he made soup, a pancake and some cheese. The other dish was a mystery.

Just another small thing in life that brings a huge smile to my face. My little chef =)

It was mmm mmm good!

Well Baby Visit: 9 month: Hailey Bug

9 month well baby stats

Height: 27 1/4 in

Weight: 17lbs 11oz.

It is official Hailey Bug is a peanut. She took a little dip in the weight curve she was on, but no need for concern. She is eating well. Her diet is well approved by the doctor. She eats 3 meals a day including cereals, fruits and veggies and has 4-5, 6-8oz bottles a day. She is eating exactly what she should be =)

In fact, the doctor was quite impressed with Hailey developmentally. She is beyond what she should be in her activity. He was impressed with her already trying to walk. She says "mama" and "Dada" and knows who is who. She is picking things up finger to thumb. After seeing how busy she was just on the examining table he understood the dip in weight.
The down side to our visit was that she had to get her third hep B shot, and then we went to get her blood drawn for her annual lead test, and some other test I can not recall off the top of my head. Hailey was a champ for both though! After the hep B shot she only cried for a few seconds. I think getting her blood drawn hurt me more than it hurt her. It was so hard watching them stick an itty bitty needle in her arm with a tube attached to the bottom collecting her sweet baby blood. She wasn't thrilled, but again within seconds she had a smile on her face again.

I have to add, I guess this lead test occurs between 9 and 12 months. Kyle had his done at 1 and it was much more difficult, so to you mommies out there, if you can do it earlier go ahead and do it. It is easier and they are less likely to remember.

Happy Valentine's Day

February 14, 2010 marked Kyle's second V-day, Hailey's FIRST V-day, and Hailey turned 9 months old.

We began our celebrations the day before. Jason and I spent the day in Boston where we enjoyed a fun lunch and a random day hopping place to place. Oh yeah, we exchanged gifts too I got some beautiful earrings =)

The babies and I spent the day making valentines for all of the grandparents and Daddy; and we baked huge valentine M&M heart shaped cookies for everyone.
Bright and early Daddy, Kyle and Hailey woke up to find some special valentines for them left on the table

My princess on her first v-day

We then went to visit my grandmother and had dinner with her and my Dad.

It was a fun family day full of love. Happy Valentine's Day to the best Valentines a girl could ask for. I LOVE my family. They make my universe and I am blessed they are mine =)

Brother and Sister

Though there are times having two babies so close together are tough..the things they do and put me through can be truly entertaining. I love seeing them learn and grow together..and watching the things they put each other through.

For instance: Kyle woke Hailey up from her very needed nap by throwing all the stuffed animals in her crib.
Sometimes they just play together, and Kyle will help her learn to walk.

A lot of times Kyle will run (sometimes crawl) back and forth between their bedrooms and they play a baby game of chase...laughing and laughing
Sometimes Hailey annoys Kyle because she wants to do EVERYTHING he does.
Everyday they make me smile. Fighting, playing, snuggling or annoying each other there is always love...and I love observing every second of it.

Haileys FIRST steps

For a little over the month Hailey has been able to pull herself up on everything.

While Kyle was taking a nap Hailey began to play with her little doll carriage; and I (in all my mommy glory) whipped out my camera to snap this fun adorable moment.
When suddenly, she took off!

Here are Hailey's FIRST OFFICIAL STEPS. The video was taken in total shock and is short
because I had to grab the official video camera..but here they are. HAILEY'S FIRST STEPS:

Ooooooh Ry-Guy

Yesterday Ryan Jr. who I call Ry-Guy came over to play with his 2 cousins. I figured where he had not been over for a bit he may feel a little nervous or awkward at first, but I assumed after a little time passed and he saw ALL the toys he could play with and the mess he could make he would be GREAT! Not so much. Kyle LOVED playing or at least trying to play with Ry-Guy. He tried to get Ryan to chase him like he does with Hailey. He tried to play peek a boo and when Ryan would suddenly start to cry you could see concern come across his face for his little cousin. When Auntie Rhonda would pick Ryan up to console him, Kyle would beg her to put him down. `

Now, if he was overwhelmed with Kyle I thought he would be excited to play with his little cousin Hailey who can crawl and climb right along with him..but he did not have much interest in her.

I can't blame him for not being super excited to come over and play. Kyle can be loud and obnoxious, and lets face it not the best sharer.

None of them had naps either. So I think being over tired and in an unfamiliar environment may not have been the best of situations as well. It certainly was not all bad. He did have (at least) a little fun. But from what I have seen knowing the DeVincent family for 16 years is that our noise level is JUST the beginning.....I know you know your Grandpa Little Ryan (LOL)!!!

The plus side for me....he wiped my babies out. Hailey fell asleep at dinner and Kyle was out by 6:45. Thanks for coming over and playing Ryan. I know it wasn't a TON of fun for you but next time will be better...I PROMISE. Sunday is YOUR birthday party and your cousins are comin' to get ya.....screaming, yelling, running and all....so EXCITING!

Good Morning

Just the other day Hailey woke up so happy. Literally was happy and jumping out of bed. It made my morning.

Her big brother Kyle loves her and as soon as he hears her he runs in yelling "yay-yee" and she gets so excited. It makes your heart melt.

5am FUN!

The other day BOTH my babies were up and at 'em at 5am. It sucked! It was super cold so I wrapped them in their robes and just had fun from there. The pictures aren't excellent...it was EARLY.

My little princess in her royal robe =)

and...a grumpy Hugh Hefner

ART!

I remember being in pre-school and getting to finger paint. I LOVED it. The wet, cold feeling on my fingers. The incredible art I created. OK so I was NEVER an artist, but maybe Kyle will be. I found washable finger paint and I recommend it to every mom. It really is WASHABLE! It came off the table, his hands, his clothes, everything no problem!

Kyle enjoyed it, even though I did have to wipe his hands clean for him every now and again....I don't know if it was to refresh, or because it bothered him that his hands were dirty. I think it may be because he was dirty...but that's another blog =)
He had fun, and so did I! It was fun art time and we got to get a little messy in the process

Of course his masterpieces are hanging proudly on the fridge. He even points to one and says "mama" and then to the other and says "dada". How cute that he painted us each a picture!

O-R-E-O

I do my best to keep my home clean for my children, especially the floors with a crawling baby. With a 1 year old who eats and sometimes throws his sister a crumb( GOOD SHARER!), every now and again I miss something. On this day I missed an Oreo so Hailey got to try it.

Pardon the video it was actually taken on my camera accidentally and it is short because I didn't realize I was recording, but its cute and I thought I would try it out on the blog. =)
