The Vineyard

Would you believe I have been a resident of Massachusetts my entire life and had only visited the Vineyard ONCE before?  The one time I went was for my cousins wedding and due to a tropical storm that lingered over the island for the entire weekend our MV adventures were pretty limited. So I was excited to go and spend the day.  It started off with a fun ferry ride. =) The kids were looking for sharks the entire time =)

There was HUGE excitement over the "pirate ship"

I will say, if you are going to spend the day, know where to go.  I didn't.  After a short cab ride to Oak Bluffs (totally scared to pieces by the way because we had 5 kids NOT in baby seats) the adventures began.  My cousin (who I think would reside there all summer if possible) was texting me the ins and outs of where to go and what to see.  AND finding an old friend who now resides there helped out too.  I have to be honest, it was a little crowded for me to enjoy. I am not a super crowd kinda person.  I definitely want to go back either slightly off season, OR minus the kids.  I love you babies, but sometimes Mama needs to be FREE!!!

I digress from the day.  Anyway, when we first got off the ferry Wesley (my nephew) got a toy shark.  Well Kyle just HAD to have one.  So, the deal (I am all about deals) if he ate all his lunch he could get a shark (the kid was barely eating anything....so frustrating).  He ate ALL his lunch and the HUNT was on.  We hit every little shop in Oak Bluffs.  FINALLY we found a shop with not just the shark toy, but all sorts of shark stuff.  My brother and his wife just had to buy the boys masks, and they loved them!

Well, if a crazy, unorganized, fun filled day in the Vineyard wasn't enough to wipe them out, what else is there to do but get ice cream at Ben & Bill's???

It was an awesome day.  I really do want to go back! =)  SOON!
