Teacher Teacher...

Today we had Kyle's first kindergarten parent-teacher conference.  I was so nervous.  I always get nervous for these things.

What if they do mis-behave at school?  What if they are not trying?  What if they don't pay attention? So MANY What Ifs!!

When I first walked into the room and sat I was nervously awaiting all that Ms. Chandler would have to say.  She pulled out his folder and the first thing she said was "Kyle. Oh, I love Kyle."

PHEW!!! fears subsided.

She told us how kind he is, how well he behaves, he listens and cares for others.  Kyle works well independently and in groups and he is beginning to read!!

He needs work with his "O.T" (fine motor skills- writing mostly) but that in even just a few weeks she has seen a lot of improvement.  Which also made me feel better because now I know he is actually improving and its not my "mommy love" creating improvement in my mind. I was surprised when she told me he sometimes would mix up letter sounds, only because every time I ask him he answers correctly and when he asks me he is always right. One example she gave me was that the letter "G" made a "J" sound...but now that I am home and think of it Kyle is right..."G" makes 2 sounds one of which sounds like "J"...like in GYM!

All in all we were right on the same page with his teacher her concerns were things we were aware of and he got positive reviews.

I couldn't be happier! So proud of Tidbit!

Princess Mess!

I love My Hailey Bug.  I really, really do.  She is so smart, caring, kind hearted, sweet, innocent, loving, and fun BUT she is also my MESSIEST child....BY FAR! I am pretty sure she makes/causes more mess than Kyle and Cole combined.  It amazes the mess that she makes. Even more so, how messy her room is EVERY morning.

I HATE IT!!!

It drives me NUTS and I fear this is going to be a HUGE battle through her teenage years. UGH!  At least now she does "clean" it. Not to my standard, but passable for most days.

I love you Bug but PLEASE, just TRY to not make such a mess....everywhere with everything!

Last Soccer Game

Saturday morning was COLD!  Really cold!

Poor Cole was miserable and cold.

But it was Hailey's last soccer game of the season so we all sucked it up and watched her go.

She was excited because she was getting a trophy. As badly as I wanted to bring Cole to the car to get him warmed up (despite his heavy layers) I could not miss her getting her first trophy.

Yay Bug!!!!

I thanked her Coach for everything.  He was a good coach and anyone who volunteers their time to help, guide, or coach in the very least deserves a thanks.  He said "no, no Thank you guys.  Hailey really is a joy.  Just her presence brightens everyones spirit."
 Pretty amazing compliment =)

We are so proud of you Hailey!!!

First Friend

We were watching Hailey play soccer and Cole kept walking back and forth.  I was wondering what he was doing, then I looked back at him and....

he made his first little friend =)

He would walk to his little friends blanket. Say Hi. and wave him over to walk with him to our chair.

So cute!

He is like his Daddy! He likes making new friends =)

Karate Kyle

Kyle's Karate picture =)

Daylight Savings

I am not a fan of daylight savings.  It is not working well for our family at all! I am trying to keep my kids up later because they are all starting their days at 4:30am now.  Cole's naps are all off...he is passing out by 5pm and either waking up an hour later, not going back to sleep until 10pm and waking up at 4am OR falling asleep at 5pm and waking up between 2 and 3 am ready to play and start the day.

It doesn't seem to matter what I do, I am struggling to rectify our current sleep situation.

So I say we take a vote on this daylight savings thing....its not like we have to do it and I HATE it!

Lucky for them they are cute!

Study

Kyle is not a fan of homework.

I bought Hailey a Kindergarten workbook to give her homework because she wants it.

Cole wants to do anything and everything that they do.

So, I'll put them all to work. Hey someone has to support me when they are all grown up =)

My smart little babies!

Trick or Treat 2013

Happy Halloween!!!

I'm not going to lie. I was a little bummed.  I thought we were going to be trick or treating alone but then.....we ended up with a party!!!!

Rhonda and her family joined us, as well as the Sacca family, and we all had a Happy Halloween!

Every time Kyle and Hailey turned from a house after getting their candy they ran down to shout "Mommy they gave us candy!!!  Mom we got more candy!!" They were so excited after each house!

They were all so cute and so much fun.

Even Gracie when she hit her "done" point =)

It was a happy Halloween indeed.

Thank you to all those who shared it with us.

Bug's Week

It was here.  It was finally here! Hailey's "Me Week" at school.  Last year Kyle had a "me week" and it killed Hailey that her 2 day class didn't do that.  It is something she has talked about and looked forward to for a year...her "Me Week".

Monday we brought in home made brownies for the class and she took to school all of our blog books because they are full of pictures and stories about our family.

Friday her Grandmother (Jay's mom) was going to the school to read to the class a story and talk to them all about Ireland.  I thought they would love her Irish brogue and that she would love seeing what Hailey does in school.

Wednesday...that was my day =)

Cole and I were invited to come in early, but Hailey only wanted us in for craft time..so we spied for a bit.

Because it was her week she got to b the helper and point out the year, month and days of the week as well as the alphabet.

Then Cole and I were called in for her craft time.  It was the day before halloween so our craft for the class was for everyone to make their own mask =)

They all did a great job!

Next it was time for Hailey to present her "mystery box". She took her time choosing the perfect thing to put in it.

The kids did a great job guessing and Hailey gave some fantastic clues.

After the mystery box Hailey stretched out with the class and politely kicked Cole and I out. We left a bag of treats for everyone in the preschool and hung out.

I was a little bummed Hailey didn't want us there but I understood.....plus I got to hang with this cutie =)

I hope Hailey really enjoyed her week at school and that we helped to make it a little more special for her.  I know it was special for me to go in and be a part of her day at school.

Love you Buglet!
