Mail Call

I can remember as a child seeing my mother get the mail everyday and wishing I had received some mail. I would ask all the time "is here any mail for me?" Of course, there never was.

My little ones have the added tease of packages being sent to our home all the time.  I am a big on-line and Etsy shopper.

Well, the other day Kyle did get some mail!  Each student in Kyle's class was assigned a classmate to write a letter to.  He had forgotten all about it.....and when I told him he got some mail he was so excited!!!

That was a fun little moment =)

Hello Spring!

The sun was shining. The temperatures were in the high 50's. Spring cleaning is complete. We had a few hours to kill so we went to the playground.  Our first real day out and about in 2014 and really Cole's first time on a playground. Last year he was too little and stuck in his carriage =)

Cole was fearless!  He was all about climbing all over the big kids playground but with it being so crowded and me freaking that he is a baby and can't grow up I started him off on the kiddie playground. He loved it!

I was proud of my little ones running around and playing with familiar friends and making new ones.

Hailey has really grown. Last fall she could hardly reach the riding wheel, and this spring she was doing it all on her own!

Cole is blessed to have such an amazing big brother and big sister.  He was determined to go down the big slide. With so many kids I wasn't comfortable with him going alone so Kyle followed him up the steps and took him down...a few times!

When Kyle was done Hailey and our little friend Gracie took over slide duty for baby =)

It was so nice to be outside. Enjoying the sun, company with friends and appreciating my beautiful babies! =)

I am so blessed!

Bros.

When Hailey is at ballet....These 2 play =)

Kyle's Field Trip

Kyle has been talking about community helpers in school. So the class recently took a field trip to the local police station, fire station, library, and Price Chopper (a local grocery store).

Kyle was so so excited! The day he brought home the permission slip I had to fill it out immediately. Of course I was torn when it came to the part about chaperoning. I would LOVE to go with him, but  I also have Cole and Hailey. I hate asking for a sitter unless it is really needed. So, I put on the slip:" I am happy to chaperone if you need another parent, but let me know so I can find a sitter."

Sunday, Kyle was going on and on about his trip and on and on about my brother "Uncle Chris" because he is a police officer. Suddenly, he says "Mom aren't you so excited to go too?! I told Mrs. Anderson you were excited!"

Umm in that moment my heart broke a little because I didn't think I was going...I hadn't heard anything. When I explained that too him he looked so disappointed! So, I didn't know if I was or was not going.....thankfully the teacher called Monday (after I found a sitter) and left a message apologizing for not letting me know sooner, but that she was not expecting me.

When I told Kyle when he got home he was OK with it, but still.....I feel like I let him down. Note to self....CHAPERONE, they won't always want me there!

When he got back from his field trip he was so excited! He had such a good day. His favorite was the police station. "They don't use bars anymore! There was a toilet in the jail!" He was also determined to find "Paw Patrol" on TV and wants to become a police officer =)

New Uniform

I can not express enough how into karate Kyle is. He truly loves it! He is beyond trilled to be in "black belt training"

When you are a BB student you get a black uniform. He was so excited to finally have it and to wear it to class today that I had to snap a picture of him in it. Even if its a fast picture, and it was a small moment in time...it was a special day for him, and I caught it! =)

Opening Day!

With spring cleaning in full swing and getting sick with strep (AGAIN!!!!!!) I am ashamed to admit we did not wear any Sox gear for opening day. BUT for opening day at Fenway we did....kind of....once again, I am ashamed to admit Kyle and Hailey did not have any sort of red Sox apparel(they grew!!), but they did have hats and we wore what we had!

Cole insisted on wearing Kyle's fire hat.....

Here is to an awesome 2014 season! Go Sox!

We Have a Talker!

This too cool, too cute, awesome little boy is really starting to talk...FINALLY!! I was freaking out a little bit because really all he would say is "Mama and Mum!"

I told a friend who works with early intervention I was concerned and she wasn't in the least. He has always clearly communicated what he likes and what he wants.  He will even sing "Let it Go"!

It is not perfect and we have a ways to go but in just the last couple of weeks he is saying cup, Grandma, Balloon, No, Dad, snack, please, thank you...just to name a few =)

I'm impressed with my little Nugget and we all so love watching him learn and grow =)

Animal Adventures

I have been spring cleaning like a mad woman! Its so hard with the 3 little ones, and I have been trying so hard to get out of the house at least once a week to give all of us a break. But last week we didn't do anything extra or fun. I owed my little ones!  So with a Groupon and some friends we took off to Animal Adventure!

I can't lie. When we first pulled up to a few random trailers with some pigs and goats outside I was taken back. It wasn't exactly what I imagined, but we were on an adventure! =)

Clearly, Cole was very excited about it =)

After a quick group photo we were off!

When we got inside the kids immediately gathered around the bunnies. They were so excited when they found out they could pet them =)

This is a female owl. They get larger than their male counterparts. Also, did you know that they can carry something up to 40lbs to eat?!?!? YEAH! So here you think your cat or dog went missing, and you are blaming it on coyotes?? Eye to the sky my friend, it  may be your local owl. CRAZY right?!?

This cute little dog, wasn't so cute...this little red fox screeched like nothing I ever heard before and that was a typical sound for the red fox.

The kids were captivated and really interested in all the animals. Kyle knew a lot about the birds (and let everyone know) from the movie Rio =)

Cole, was very into it......

When the keeper announced we were going to be seeing a skunk next this was the immediate reaction.....

Of course the gland that they would use to spray us was removed; and we were surprised to learn that skunks actually make really good pets. They like being snuggled and pet, much like a cat.

When Cole did finally wake up he was in awe of everything! He especially liked the bunnies and the turtles. He would run back and forth between the 2.

This place had A LOT of gators and a lot of snakes. I was shocked to learn that all the gators and snakes were peoples pets!!!  Yup!  Why are people so ridiculous??? That is cruel to the animal and so dangerous for you.

My pretty niece =) I love these of her, I had to include them =)

It was a great day out. A good day with friends. A fabulous break from cleaning and actually despite the drizzle and cool temperatures a good day to go.

I enjoyed our adventure! =)
