Fun at the Mall

With frigid arctic temperatures (literally), the stomach bug, strep, and colds January has not been a whole lot of fun.

Until yesterday! We met some friends at the mall for lunch and played the day away =)

Our mall has a carousel in the middle of the food court so we started there.

Cole's first carousel ride.  Don't you just love how I have him trained to look at the camera, smile and say cheese? =)

Then it was off to the arcade for bowling,

and games =)

Cole was such a good baby.  Though he tried to get out a few times he didn't mind hanging in the stroller and watching the big kids play.

We sadly had to leave earlier than planned but for good reason. A surprise birthday visit from my dad!  Thankfully our friends understood.

Sometimes the best days, are the most random ones =)

Bahama Mama

It has been SO COLD this winter.  I know, I know, every winter is cold but it is arctic cold this year!

Well Buglet had Bahama day at school last week and she was so excited to go.  She had to miss it last year because of the stomach bug. This year she was so upset because we thought we were not going to have school due to snow. However, the storm missed us and she got to go to school and despite the -15 degree wind chill temperature Hailey was dressed and ready to party...

Bahama style! =)

Go Wesley!

Kyle adores his cousins.  Jameson and Wesley both play hockey and we all wanted to see them play.  Sunday we finally got to go to one of their games!

We got to see Wesley play.  The crowd had no doubt who we were cheering for.  I should be more specific.  The crowd had no doubt who Kyle was cheering for!

He caught onto the sport quickly and kept cheering: "Go Wesley! Go Wesley! Get the puck Wesley! Defense Wesley!  Get it! Get it!"

The entire game!

Wesley did really well too!

He scored 5 goals!!!!!

Looks like Wesley (and maybe even the sport of hockey) has some new fans =)

Good Game!

My Nugget

My little Nugget is so special.  He walks like a little bull dog.  He is so loving.  He'll give hugs and kisses just because or upon request.  He knows what he likes and what he wants.  He isn't really speaking but communicates so well that even Kyle and Hailey can interpret and act upon his every request.

AND he is adorable...

Chilling in his recliner

or passed the bink out.

Life is better for all of us because Cole is in it! =)

Teef =)

January....off to the dentist we go!  Hailey was a little nervous but she had no issues once we were there.  She did really well last year too =)  My brave girl.

Kyle...well what a difference a year makes. Last year I had to balance taking care of Cole (a 6 month old baby) and holding Kyle on my lap backwards while he had his teeth cleaned and counted.  This year he hopped in the seat. No problem.

He even walked across the hall on his own and had X-rays done!

We got good grades when is came to brushing.  Kyle and Hailey brush well. Kyle's 6 year molars are coming in and his 2 bottom front teeth are a little loose.

I instantly had an internal mommy freak out. My 1st baby is going to loose his cute little baby teeth. This is all so fast.  I'm not ready!  He needs to still be a baby!

Kyle instantly filled with excitement because the tooth fairy will be coming. Hailey was so excited for him.

To think a small visit to the dentist could fill me with such joy ad such sorrow.  I know...I'm ridiculous!

18 Months!!

I am so sad Cole is already 18 months old.  He is growing up way too fast for me.
I am soaking up and truly enjoying my time with him.  Kyle and Hailey were so close in age that as much as I truly loved them and enjoyed them, a lot of my life was just about surviving.  Having a 5 year old and a 4 year old helps me to realize just how truly little 18 months is.

Of course Cole wanted nothing to do with the table. He had to run from chair to chair and climb up on them.

I was so excited to update Dr.D on our visit to Children's concerning Cole's heart and since he had his tubes put in his ears we both took a minute to catch up because it had been 3 months since we saw one another. That is quite the stretch considering I had been in the office with Cole so often.

His check up went well. He is growing and gaining weight.  Everything is great except that he isn't really talking. Cole expresses himself. No one ever has to doubt what he wants, where he wants to go or anything else he wants to express, He has said words.  But he does not say them consistently. I am trying to not stress too much.  My sister Katelin had her own language until she was 3 and we always understood her.  Not that I want Cole to create his own language, but it gives me hope he'll be alright =)

Happy 18 Months Nugget!!

Please stop growing up now.

His Heart...

Cole has been off his heart medication for just over 6 months, and was due for a heart check in at Children's Hospital.

It has been 9 months since he last saw Dr. Saleeb, and this time she was meeting Kyle and Hailey too =)

I had remembered the pure terror I felt the first time I had ever gone there. Sick to my stomach with nerves wondering if my newborn would be OK. Now, here we were 18 months later and Cole was walking around and playing with Kyle and Hailey.

My happy baby (who is posing here saying "cheese") got a fantastic review from his cardiologist and her team.

Still too young to be fully released Dr. Saleeb saw nothing to be concerned about and our plan is for him to wear another 24 hour heart halter in a YEAR just to check in.
In a YEAR!!!  That's HUGE!

She did warn that he could experience irregular heart beats again, or go into tachycardic states.  Maybe even when he is 5 or 6 years old which is why he won't be fully released, but she is fairly confident Cole should not experience that.

We are just so thankful for every one's love, thoughts and prayers especially pertaining to Cole's heart.  He is a happy, healthy, thriving little guy and we are so thankful to have Nugget in our lives.

My Guy

After a storm, plowing, and not feeling well at all my husband just had to burn some extra energy I guess......

Thank goodness we live on a dead end! =)

True Love

My most favorite moments at home are the ones my itty bitties don't know I am watching in on or listening to.

Like Hailey doing Cole's hair while he sits in a doll chair..

Or when the 3 of them sit and just play and laugh together...

Even when it gets a little crazy, I can't help but love them =)
