Who Needs to Pay?

After a day at the zoo we decided the family fun should continue. So, we went to Bass Pro Shop. It was an incredible adventure for the Dad's (Jay and my brother) and great fun for the kids. The best part about all this family entertainment....IT WAS FREE! Who needs to pay for a day at the aquarium when you have Bass Pro Shop?
Of course, Kyle LOVED the fish and I took a little footage. He watched our little videos several times today. I wish I took more!

A Day at the Zoo

Every year Jason and I go to the zoo...now we get to take our babies to the zoo=)
Yesterday we got to go with our 3 nephews as well, Jameson, Wesley and Ryan joined us.
This years trip was different from last year, not just that we had all 3 of our nephews with us, but life in general has changed. Last year Ryan and Hailey were being carried in their baby Bjorns. This year they were able to walk and experience the animals. Kyle was more timid this year. Last year he ran after the deer in the deer park and this year he was afraid of them, but it was so cool to see him actually get excited to see some of the animals. It made the zoo a whole new experience for me and Jason.

I can't wait to go to Roger Williams in a few weeks...and of course to see what new changes we will have next year.

Hurt My Heart

Kyle has not been feeling 100% he has a small fever, a dry cough, and is sleepy nothing I am overly concerned about. Though it hurts me to have a baby that does not feel well it hurt my heart when I went in to console him and he wanted DADA!!!

I should clarify I wasn't offended, I was surprised and though I was a little hurt that I was not wanted in that moment I was happy for Jay. It was a special moment for him..his son wanted him. Plus it helped that a few minutes later he was calling for mama again.

My heart is on the mend now....and Kyle is on his way over in tears. Wanting Mama gotta run!

Neighbor Day

When you have a Saturday and the weather says sunny with rain and thunderstorms throughout the day, what do you do? You go to lunch with the neighbors.
and PRAY that all four children will behave and eat well, while we have a few cocktails and try to relax.

After our yummy lunch and seeing the sun was out I thought: why waste the day? We visited a few local farms. First we went to Eastleigh Farm. I was hoping there were several animals there but as it turned out all they had were cows.

Kyle enjoyed watching them, but I was over the smell and ready to move on.

Though Eastleigh Farm specializes in raw milk we did not try nor purchase their unpasteurized milk. We did enjoy their ice cream though and so did all the kids.

Afterward we visited Hanson Farm which houses horses and also offers strawberry picking.

and we picked away. The price was a little steep for a small box of strawberry's but can you really put a price on wholesome family fun?
We left just in time, because as we were walking to our car the clouds opened up and the thunder banged with a vengeance! But overall it was a fun random day with the neighbors and Grandpa Ron got some fresh picked strawberries.

Like Father, Like Son

Kyle seems to be walking in Daddy's shoes, and not just literally =)
Hobby-wise too. For anyone who does not know Jason; he loves fish! He loves looking at fish, going fishing, taking people fishing and Kyle seems to love it as well. A few months ago while driving we passed a lake and Kyle said "hi fish. bye fish" I thought it was cute..but now I see this love of fish seems to be in the genes. We took a random family day and visited the Wayside Inn where they have a fish pond and you can feed the fish. I thought it would be a fun family day, and soon realized I was observing a true father son bond.
Finding Fish! There were not many fish to see at the fish pond so we went to the Gristmill where Jason and Kyle found a bunch of fish in the stream.

Not jusy itty bitty fish either, nice, big, catchable fish

Jay is so excited to take Kyle fishing. He has the rods ready to go fishing off shore..I am sure we will have a first fish post soon enough =)

A Day at Na-Na's

We have been very fortunate to have gorgeous weather so far this summer...and we DESERVE it after ALL of last summers rain. A few weeks ago we went to visit Na-Na (Kyle and Haileys great grandmother) and we had a fun filled family day.
Sad mommy won't pick her up.

Grandpa made it better in the pool
