Mommy Moment

Last week after gymnastics the kids asked to go out to lunch.  Which took me by surprise because we have not gone in a while and they haven't asked. Friendly's it was!

While we were there it was complete bliss.  It was as though we were in our own little world.  The three of us smiling and laughing in our own little bubble of joy.

Both kids devoured their lunches. I mean ate every bit of it, which is a feat in itself.  After lunch at Friendly's always comes ice cream.  They were both so excited about ordering and having Oreo ice cream.  Kyle quite literally would NOT STOP TALKING about it.

They gobbled their ice cream and when Kyle was done he was sad.  Hailey scooped some ice cream out from her little dish, onto her little spoon and asked "want some Kyle?" Of course he did!  He leaned across the table and she leaned toward him and fed him.  He said "Thank you Hailey, love you." She gave him a few extra bites for that.  I had my camera in my bag and so wanted to capture what was happening but I was so busy savoring this beautiful moment I just took mental pictures.

When all the ice cream was gone and the check was paid we slowly came out from our little love bubble.  When I looked around us everyone in the restaurant was watching us.  It was a little awkward having so many eyes on us.  I checked out the kids, they were good.  Made sure I didn't have anything on my face or wasn't wearing any food.  My cleavage was tucked in so really, there was no obvious reason as to why everyone was staring at us.

Kyle had to "go pee, Mama" and while we were walking back a woman grabbed my sleeve and said "you truly have beautiful children". I passed another table and a woman said "I have never seen a mommy more in love." When we went a little further a man rubbed Kyles head and said "that was a Kodak moment." A woman across the restaurant walked up to me while we were leaving and said "you have kids with good hearts."

It was amazing.  Like this little miracle was happening.  I felt so happy and so blessed.  I walked out with tears in my eyes and a smile in my heart.  What more could a mommy want?  Other than to NEVER forget that day, that moment, that love bubble that I felt like we were in and everyone was watching.  I wish every mom a mommy moment like that =)

Dirty Wata!

I may have worked with the TIGERS but we are SOX fans.....

SEE!
Boston you're my home!!!!

Photo Shoot

As I do every year I had the kids pictures done professionally.  We went to The Picture People as we have for the last 3 years.  I have to say though I found some pictures to hang in the house; I was NOT happy with the photographer!  I won't get into details because I feel as though if I explain it I just sound like a whiny, complaining mom, which really I promise I am not.  BUT my experience with her was not good.  Whats WORSE is that I requested her!  The first time we had her she was amazing.  She was patient and fun.  We requested her last year but when we went in to have their pictures done she was out.  So this year when I went in to book the appointment and I saw her I was so excited!

I don't know. Maybe she had a rough morning.  Maybe she has something crazy going on in her life.  I'm not sure. All I can really say is that I will NOT request her again.  I won't give up on the company because I get a lot of great pictures taken and I get to bring them home the same day; and with the coupons I get- the prices aren't usually so bad. I have had 3 great experiences with them =)  I am really trying to not make one negative experience taint my vision of them forever.

To prove I am not an unreasonable customer I totally get that toddlers are tough to work with.  I even understand I may not get the pictures I really want because one of them may be moody or shy (like the ones of them together).  Which is why I make every effort to make sure we go at an hour when the kids are usually always happy and bright, and I do all I can to ensure their moods are GREAT.  Oh well...I digress, and I am getting mad thinking about my experience....DARN PHOTOGRAPHER!

Anyways.....

Kyle was shy at first and then he really played it up for the camera.  There were so many amazing pictures of him it was really hard to choose.

I HAD to get the one of him beating on the drum....its SO HIM!

Hailey wasn't herself.  She was timid and shy.  Normally she would take the lead and be the happy-go-lucky kid.  Or in the very least follow Kyle's lead and have fun. But not that day.

Though the options for her were limited and I didn't love the doll they were still cute.  AND the doll does suit her.  She LOVES her baby dolls =)

I was hoping for a GREAT one of the two of them together.....

and though the photographer didn't help the situation the ones she did capture were kinda cute and captured them in a new way =)

So there they are. Our 2011 pictures for Kyle and Hailey.

Despite a negative experience I love their pics.

You'll have 1 more chance PICTURE PEOPLE! =)

Hailey's Two Do!

I can't believe my baby girl is 2!  I am so proud and so sad.  She first requested and then insisted on having a Barney theme.  Believe me I gave her several other options but she was positive on her decision and so, Barney it was.

We were hoping to have a nice big BBQ in the backyard. However the weather was too "iffy"  and I do mean "iffy" even the night before the meteorologists couldn't predict how the day was going to be.  Thankfully I had a plan B: pizza party!!  and "Papa Gino's" had a kick ass deal so really it was the right way to go.

The day was GREAT!  We had our friends and family over to celebrate our little girl.  The food was delicious, and best of all the weather held out.  Yup, we had a nice warm day and even saw the sun for a bit =)

Hailey wasn't quite herself. She keeps telling me "My teeth hurt mama" so I think she was just not feeling 100%.  But after a little bit she rallied and had a ton of fun.

I am embarrassed by my lack of pictures.  I can't believe I don't have an amazing picture of Hailey in her little Barney dress. ESPECIALLY since I had to order 2 of them!  Yeah, the first one was 24mos/2T and huge, so this crazy mama got her another one, that was still a little big.  I guess that just means I have another chance to capture her in the adorable dress =)

We are so blessed to have this little girl in our lives.  I am so grateful for everyone coming out to celebrate our baby girl and all the amazing things she has brought to our lives.  I feel so blessed everyday for the life we have.

Happy Birthday Hailey Bug.  I LOVE YOU.  Thank you for being my baby girl.

A Perfect Day.

Last Monday my husband FINALLY took a day off from work and we got to have an amazing family day.

The day began as it usually does. Jay took off to do a few things before we were going to leave while I fed the kids, straightened up the house, got everyone dressed and cleaned up. Only this Monday was a little different.  Kyle and Hailey scarfed their breakfast.  I told them "I am getting in the shower" and THEY CLEANED the house.  Yup, you read me right...they CLEANED.  When I came out of the shower every toy was put away. Just knowing we were going to the aquarium put a new boost in their step =)

Then, they ate ALL of their lunch, with NO FIGHT!  Then, it was off to the aquarium!

Hailey LOVED the penguins.  Once she saw them she was hooked.  We would look at other tanks, and admire different fish and sea animals but she kept asking to go back to see the penguins.  Daddy bought her a penguin purse to commemorate the day.  What a perfect little gift for Buglet. Another accessory AND a baby penguin in one =)

Kyle was most excited about the sea turtle and the shark.  Although, every time a shark came by the window we were looking into Kyle would jump and whimper, "I'm scared!"

Yet, he kept going back....

Auntie Kate joined in on the family fun.  It was nice of her to come.  It gave us a little break and the babes were so excited to see her.

We ended the day with an early dinner at Legal Seafood.

I definitely knocked myself out for the "mother of the year" award.  Kyle and Hailey had goldfish crackers and a brownie Sundae for dinner. I know not healthy....

but it kept them tame so we could enjoy our delicious food and it was FUN!  Thanks for taking the day off Daddy. Can't wait for you to do it again!!! =)

What Can I Say?

What can I say???

She's a girl....

and she LOVES her accessories =)

DIVA!!!

Just Like Daddy...

Kyle wants to be "just like Daddy".  A few weeks ago while we were at the mall Kyle ran into "Lids" (a hat store) pointed to a hat and said "Mom, please. Just like Daddy". So I had to buy it for him.

Kyle wants to do everything Daddy does.  He won't stop talking about going fishing with Daddy, so hopefully the weather will warm up soon for him to go.  But, until then he will help Dad in the yard.

He will do anything and everything that Daddy does and he is proud to do it.  I am just proud to see my two favorite boys together.  LOVE THEM!!!

Happy Easter!

As with ANY and ALL holidays I want to go all out and make it spectacular and unforgettable.

Kyle and Hailey were up and at 'em nice and early.  Of course I was up BEFORE them because I am still excited for the Easter Bunny!

The big Easter hit was the "bubble toy"

After our first little family Easter egg hunt here at home and rejoicing the true meaning of the day at church it was off to my mothers house for more Easter fun.  More candy, more Easter baskets, another Easter egg hunt and a yummy dinner.

Then it was off to my in-laws for more festivities.  Yummy desserts, more baskets and an Easter egg hunt for the little kids, AND the big kids (me, my hubby, my sis-in-law, and her husband).  I am proud to say that Team DeVincent beat out Team Mulloy for the second year in a row.  This is a HUGE feat because my sister in law Rhonda takes her egg hunt seriously.  She actually threw me aside one year while I was 8 months pregnant to beat me!  So yeah, we won!

The only down side to the day was Kyle was still so sick with a stomach bug.  I have to say despite being sick I think he enjoyed the day.  Granted a lot of it was resting but he was still able to participate and play in all the Easter fun.

Overall, a good day; and after being thrown up on when we got home, a memorable night as well.  Happy Easter 2011!!
