Football at 5??

 

 

We signed Kyle up for football.  I'm not exactly sure what I imagined but I did not imagine helmet and full pads.

 

Most towns don't start football until second grade.  As I have learned that is not true.  Towns with Pop Warner start in second grade.  Other towns are in AYF they can begin at age 5.

 

Now I thought this would be more of an introduction to the sport.  Kind of like how T-ball is to baseball.

 

 

 

I could not have been more wrong!  As he hit the practice field he was lined up with kids all the way up through 6th grade!

 

Ummm you see my baby right?  He's there, behind the big kid. 

 

Why are you yelling at all the boys like that?  You know he is 5 right? He has never done this stuff before!

 

Ummm you are making him run drills with big kids?

 

I wanted to throw up for him watching him have to run up this big hill over and over!

 

He's 5!!!!!!

I was envisioning flag football against other small teams from the same town...Like T-ball darn it.  NOT THIS!!
