July 18th it was off to Children's Hospital Boston for Cole's tubes to be put in his ears.
I wasn't too worried. I knew he was in incredible hands.
When we went to the prep area all the doctors and nurses fell in love with him. He was just such a happy baby. He gave all the doctors smiles and hugs.
They explained how they were going to bring him back and put him to sleep. Really that was the part I dreaded the most. I waited at his pre-op bed in case they needed me to come back to soothe him. I should have known my little guy wasn't going to need me. He lept into the arms of the anesthesiologist gave her a big hug and waved goodbye to me.
After about 5 minutes of sitting and waiting another nurse told me I was all set and could go out to the waiting room. They would get me if they needed me. I checked in (as I was supposed to) at the surgical nurses station where they informed me he was done and the doctor should be out in the next 5 minutes to see me.
Done? You mean he just went to sleep? Nope. He was DONE!
I went into the recovery room and found him all snuggled up on this tall, grizzly nurse. He had just fallen in love with Cole. I held him for a bit, he had a little tylenol, some sugar water and we were out the door.
Off to Grandma's to swim and play.
Can you tell this guy had tubes put in this morning?
You amaze me Cole!
I pray that these tubes will relieve any and all future ear issues. Love you.
