There are no pics. to go along with this little story, and its just a short story; but I smile every single morning =)
When Jason and I were in High School somehow this "thing" about cheese came up. I have no idea how or why it started, but everything was "cheese". I used to make Jason posters when the cheerleaders would decorate the football players houses (I was his cheerleader) that said "Number 57 LOVES cheese". He found it hilarious. Even then I didn't get the joke.
Through the years, every once in a while we call one another cheese. When I was pregnant with Kyle, Jason was "Chief Cheese", I was "Cheese" and we called Kyle "Tidbit". Do you remember "tidbits"? My grandfather used to love them. They were like "cheez-its", but they were more stick like. Hailey was our little "Cheez-ette" when she was in the womb.
Here we are 2010 and now our babies (really Miss.Hailey) call Daddy "cheese". Every morning we walk Daddy to the door where we give him kisses goodbye for the day. As he walks to his car door he is followed out with the three of us taking turns shouting behind him "Bye Daddy'. "Have a good day". "I love you". "C-ya". and just as daddy is pulling out of the driveway you hear Hailey's itty bitty voice say "bye cheese"
I will have to film our morning ritual one day. Grabbing a camera at 6:30am after just rolling out of bed doesn't seem to cross my mind for some reason.???? It is adorable though and it makes Jason and I smile every single morning. This funny and mysterious story of cheese has made it from high school and trickled down to our kids.
