Kyle and Hailey have been very into these animal cards. They are just cards with a picture of an animal on the front and all the facts about the animal on the back. Of course this led to a request: "When can we go to the zoo?"
Truth be told: I have been dying to go to the zoo. Their request just made me want to go even more. By now we have usually done a zoo or two more than once. This summer...NONE. It was a BIG" mommy is boring", summer. SO, while the weather is still beautiful I am making up for missed activities!
Last Friday was FREE. No scheduled plans or activities so last minute I decided...its the perfect day for the zoo. Thankfully we had some friends who were free and willing to go last minute too!
I am NEVER rushing to get to the zoo in the morning again! I was concerned about going after lunch....but it may be the only way I go again! We were maybe 1 group of 10 in the entire park! It was like we had the zoo, the park, and the rides all to ourselves.
Not only that, but we saw ALL the animals. They were all out and active! We even heard the lion roar!
I am so happy and so thankful we went to the zoo, and went with fun friends! It was random, last minute, and I loved it! We literally closed the park. I may have to do that again sometime =)
I'm totally earning some mommy points back!
