Cocktails and Crafts!!

Since the moment I became a mother I always wanted some sort of "mommy group" or something to connect with other adults....just not with strangers.  When I read an old friends blog: Rub Some Dirt On It, I loved that she met up with her fellow mommy girlfriends once a month for Cocktails and Crafts. I wanted to do something like that but needed to set it up just right.  Finally the moment arrived and on October 22nd we had our first Cocktails and Crafts; Massachusetts style.

I wanted the perfect craft for the kids, something to represent fall, and halloween so I thought painting pumpkins would be perfect!

I found a GREAT deal on line.  If you are looking for a good deal on craft and school supplies check out http://www.discountschoolsupplies.com/ I bought a bunch of washable tempera paint, paint brushes, paint cups, caddy's for the paint and paint cups.  All I had to get were some pumpkins. Then we were ready for Cocktails and Crafts!!!

While the Dad's were away the kids craft, and the moms drank away =)

Some of the kids were done faster than I thought they would be. Miss. Hailey really enjoyed this craft and took her time.......almost too much time.  Kyle loves music and Hailey loves art.

Next, lunch.  We had all sorts of pizza and pizza sticks for the kids.

Just when you thought the day was done, it wasn't! Though it was chilly and fall like the sun shined and we had just enough warmth for outdoor fun.

When Jason got home the kids got to finally go on the go-carts (my little cousins were asking all day).

Unfortunately at 5pm on a Saturday someone in the neighborhood called the police with a "noise complaint" and we had to shut down the go carts, and wrap up our day of cocktails and crafts.

I'd say overall the day was a real success!!!!  Its going to be hard for the other mommies to live up to so much fun that the cops have to shut you down.......OK not my proudest moment, but definitely a memorable one =)
