I LOVE Hailey's room. Its so bright and so girly. I also love her little toddler bed. It just seemed like the perfect little bed, for my perfect little girl.
Problem was.....she never sleeps in her bed! She never has! Even as an itty bitty baby she would not sleep in her crib. Not sure why I expected her to sleep in it when I transitioned it to a toddler bed (which broke my heart).
I tried everything: bribing her, sticker charts, lights in her room. Threats! She would sleep in there for 5 or 6 days and then eventually be back in my bed.
SO maybe it's time. Time for a new bed. I have been thinking about it for a while now. For years really. If she had a "real" bed maybe she would sleep in it.
I finally got Jason on board and we were off to get her bed.
Hailey had to choose her mattress. The only other person that could help her was Kyle. What Mom and Dad had to say did not matter.
Once "she" chose the mattress it was off to pick the bed. Now, Jay and I had already decided, and he was actually already paying for it; but Hailey felt we had no right to decide. It is her room and she and Kyle should be the ones to choose her bed.
There was a lot of back and forth, but thankfully she chose the bed we chose. PHEW!
After spending way more money than we thought we would and just being DONE! They had to look at the fish. Jay and I were both so ready to get out of there, but they had to check out the fish...again. The cool thing, Jay and I just stared at them, looked at each other with a smile and a look of "aren't they so cute...just look at them!" It was special, and then we were outta there!
Guess what?!?!?! She LOVES her bed! The first night she slept in it, she slept in it for the entire night!!! She has slept in it every night since it was delivered! No bribes, no promises, no sticker charts. She just sleeps in her bed!
To think if we just bought her a bed 3 years ago Jay and I would have 3 more years of sleep under us.
It's like a little miracle, but really it's just a bed.
Sweet dreams Buggy We love you!
