Today was the first day that it was warm enough, and dry enough to play outside. It was SO FUN! There was still a little snow to climb over, but plenty of space to get outside and run free. Of course the swing set was the star of the day.
I would like to think maybe it was "opening day" at DeVincent Park, but I don't want to speak too soon, get my hopes up, or jinx myself. With 60 degree weather expected over the next couple days I can't help but be a little hopeful that maybe just maybe spring is (almost) here. Last year it got warm in March and in April shorts were worn....just hopin'.
The best part....after gymnastics, a trip to Stop n' Shop- where Kyle had a meltdown about NOT being allowed to get chocolate chip cookies the entire time (and yes HE was there) a few hours of playing outside and a walk around the neighborhood; the kids came in ate a GREAT dinner, enjoyed some dessert, took a color tubby, and went straight to bed and passed out by 6:15pm. I KNOW.
Jay worked a little later than usual so we had our own separate dinner (which we never do). It was WEIRD eating with such peace. No babies demanding or wanting anything. I asked if he remembered when it was just us eating and he responded "No. Did you cook for me before we had kid?." I asked if he was joking and he wasn't. MEN!
So, for it being the Ides of March it was overall a GREAT day. I mention this because throughout high school and in college March 15 was always some sort of bad or off day. The last few years my luck seems to have changed and the ides of March don't seem to effect me. OK now I am just blabbing. Hope your day was a fun as ours =) I really enjoyed my children today. I always do, but today I REALLY did =)
Jason and I always eat dinner alone after the kids are in bed. It's nice to actually be able to talk and eat and not get frustrated. Maybe you guys could do it once a week or something for a treat? :)
