Lucas James

On February 24, 2011 I became an Aunt.....AGAIN!  To another NEPHEW.  Its not a BAD thing, just surprising.  The odds were certainly in my sister in law Karens favor to have a little girl.  But NO, the "Y" got to the egg the fastest and I have another nephew.

It is official that Jason and I are the ONLY ones in my family without a niece.  It is also official that Hailey is the ONLY girl.  This poor little girl is surrounded with a big brother, older boy cousins, a younger boy cousin, an Uncle who adores her and has said she is "not allowed to date until she is 30, and he must be approved" (did I mention said uncle is a police officer and legally carries a gun) and a father who is over protective of her mother, and gets upset when I even make jokes about Hailey dating or tell him the boys across the street kissed her.

I know Hailey will not be the only girl forever, or at least the odds are not in her favor as she has 3 more Aunties and 2 more Uncles. I also know that one day I will have a niece to spoil and share girly things with.  Until then my friend Marleen's little girl (who I now share a b-day with) and Danielle (who lives down the road) will have to receive all the ridiculous girly things.

When we went up to the hospital to meet the newest addition to our family he was whisked away for a tubby so the boys mostly wrestled,

and Hailey mostly just hung out with Dad.

When he did come back he was hungry and it was time for us to go. Lucas' big cousins Kyle and Hailey love him so much he is all they talked about for days and when we went to Grandmas to celebrate Auntie Kate's b-day the moment came that they got to HOLD their baby cousin. Sadly, I missed Kyles time holding him, but I caught Hailey:
