After 5 days in the hospital it was time to leave. I technically even left a day early! I was looking forward to going home and becoming an official party of 5! Poor Kyle and Hailey were home sick after 3 days away with Grandma and Grandpa DeVincent in the Cape for the 4th, and then 5 days with my mother and sisters.
Jay had a lot on his plate that Tuesday morning. Running around for work. Getting the Suburban we were going to register and make our family vehicle; and installing the car seats.
I on the other hand was playing dress up with Cole, getting him into his coming home outfit Grandma bought for him.
Then we hung out and I started to cry...yeah I know, weird. I don't know why but I always get emotional when I am leaving the hospital with my babies.
Jay came back around 2pm, and we were off. I put Cole into his seat in the Suburban and was immediately PISSED...his seat was just not installed right. I gripped his seat the entire way to Jays mothers house (to get Kyle and Hailey) like I have never held anything in my life!
When we got there I checked out Kyle and Hailey's seats and they were not installed right either....AND Kyle's seat wasn't attached to any LATCH system. I FREAKED out...and rightfully so! Don't worry they never sat in them in the Suburban...
Right then and there I decided the Suburban was out we needed a different vehicle! I tried to put the seats back into our Pilot, but there was no LATCH in the center seat for the kids. Pilot OUT. So, Jay took off to find another vehicle for us and came back with a blue mini van. We installed the seats, and he was off again to figure out whose van it was and to get a few things fixed.
I on the other hand was trying to keep my cool but started to cry with stress and pain because I just left the hospital a day early to deal with all this ridiculousness!!!!
Wouldn't you know the van he chose was sold to a customer who was picking it up in 2 days!! At least we could use it to get home.
I was so mad and tired and sore I didn't even think to get Cole's first official picture of him being taken into the house. Mommy is sorry Cole, but I can honestly say your coming home day was the MOST unforgettable; and though I was so angry and frustrated looking back, its just another special DeVincent day. Welcome Home Cole Patrick. We are so happy to have you HERE!!
Daddy will find us the perfect family vehicle. I just know it! =)
