I LOVE Christmas. Jay laughs at me every year because I become so child-like. I think I am even more excited than the kids, although I am not sure how much longer I will be able to say that. Since becoming a parent Christmas has become magical again. To share such special moments with your little ones is amazing. Even Jason (who was not so into the season) lights up at Christmas. I thought it was me rubbing off on him, but its the kids....who am I trying to fool?
This Christmas was even more special because Kyle and Hailey actually understood the concept of Santa and were SO excited!
Hailey was the first one up at 6am. Well technically I was up first. I couldn't sleep I was so excited! So other than me, Hailey was the first one up. I went into the bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth and I heard the pitter patter of little feet go by the door followed by "GASP! Oh wow I think Santa was here!" My 2 year old amazes me. I took in the moment and just listened to her for a bit. It was so magical.
Unable to contain her excitement or the loudness in which she spoke, Kyle was up next to check out all the excitement. Of course Daddy, had no choice but to join us. His smile was so big, he loves seeing the two little ones so excited!
I gasped in surprise as I noticed Santa ate the special cookies we baked just for him, and though we were supposed to leave carrots (it says to on the plate) I think the reindeer really enjoyed the apple we left for them =)
They just couldn't believe Santa was actually in our house. =)
Then came the not so fun task of opening EVERYTHING and putting in the batteries.
Until they noticed their stockings.
Then came the time I was most excited for: opening the presents under the tree!
When all was said and done at 7:30 am (yeah you read that right),all was opened and done. It was time to clean Hurricane X-mas.
I know what you are wondering: why not slow down a little and spread Christmas out a little? Because by 10am it was time to leave for Christmas #3 at my mothers (I should share that Jay and I say we have 4 Christmas's: 1.) with my father and grandmother Christmas Eve, 2.) Our family Christmas at home 3.) Christmas at my mothers 4.) Christmas with his parents).
Once we were dressed and ready to go we were off to Christmas #3 at my mothers house. Where there was family, food and gifts for all!
After receiving too many gifts to count it was time for the gift that was too big to put anywhere. The roller coaster Grandma got for Kyle and Hailey!
After all that excitement it was time to go to the DeVincent family Christmas at Jay's parents house, where there was even MORE! Unfortunately Ryan Jr. was so sick he stayed home with daddy so it wasn't quite the same.
Seriously, our day could not have been more busy, exciting, magical or fulfilling. I hope everyone had a day as special as ours was. I think I may still be recouping from it =)
