Happy 2014

After a busy week of baking, and family, Christmas and cleaning up; I straight up needed a few days of nothingness after the holidays. I certainly was not the most fun Mom.  There was no crafting, or games, really just kids playing with their new toys and movies.  Just what I needed after all the chaos. My little ones were over doing nothing though.

When New Years Eve rolled around Kyle was straight up mad we were not having a party.  We made last minute plans with friends but they fell through when the stomach bug took them out.  I'll admit, Jay and I were a little bummed we weren't doing anything special, but we were OK with it too.

We were invited to another friends home, and to my brothers house, all options we were open to but once daily chores were done we all just needed to get out of the house.  So, we surprised my Mom with a pop in visit.

We got Chinese food and hung out.  Cole got to sing and dance with his Chipmunk friends. He loved that toy!

By 8:30 we were home and all in bed.  Jason and I the last few years fell asleep before midnight but would wake up just before to ring in the new year. We didn't this year.  I actually woke up at 11:49pm and planned to stay up for New Year but somehow missed it.

Sad, but true! =)

The next day the 5 of us went to the movies to see Frozen.

It wasn't an exciting New Year. However it was a great New Year. We welcomed the New Year in our own home, filled with love and together as a family.

Here is to 2014!!!!
