Circus Circus

We took the kids to the circus with their cousins April and Ryan. It was quite a day, and I'm not sure which was more of a circus...our adventure in, out and around Boston; or the actual circus. =)

Rhonda thought it would be fun to take the train into Boston because Lil' Ryan LOVES the train. So we were on board as well.....if we knew then what we knew now......

The commuter rail was running 15 minutes late (no big deal). Sure it was chilly out but the kids were properly bundled up so we were OK.

Once we finally made it onto the train it was over an HOUR ride into Boston.  Jay and I were shocked (to say the least) once we learned that fun fact we were a little annoyed to be passing through towns we knew so slowly....but that's not what went wrong.

Then we found out we had to take not 1...but 2 subways with 5 children 4 and under to get to the circus..and oh but wait! wait!  The train was now running 45 minutes late!

SO after and hour (plus) train ride, running up and down stairs in the train system with 3 little kids and 2 babies in carriages and 2 crowded subway rides ( everyone in and on the subways were VERY nice and quite helpful) we FINALLY made it to the circus; an hour late! LOL! .

We made it just in time for intermission.  Thank goodness the kids are young enough to not know the difference =)

We still caught some great acts....

The kids got their toys....

and then we were off to kill FOUR hours in Boston.  Why 4?  Well the 2:30 train we thought we would be taking home.....well there wasn't one.

So after a lot of walking, 2 restaurants in a packed city with hungry little kids we ended up at Cleary's; and it was PERFECT!  The restaurant was open.  There weren't many patrons.  Football was on TV, the food was delicious and the drinks: refreshing.

So yeah. It wasn't just a day at the circus.  It was a circus of a day.  It makes for a GREAT memory.

So yes Rhonda...you messed up with this whole T thing; but I wouldn't have changed it.  I loved our day.

Wonder what the circus will be like next year?
