As a mother you know your children are growing up, but you don't always see it. You bring them home from the hospital and they are so itty bitty dependent on you for everything and before you know it, its their first birthday! You were with them every step of the way. Every feeding, every diaper, every milestone...but how and when did they get so big? How are they 1 already?? Over such a small amount of time so much changes, and though you savor every second (or at least I try to) you are blinded to the fact that they are growing up.
Yesterday was one of those moments as a parent that takes your breath away and you step back and look at your children as an outsider and SEE how much they are growing up, and how fast it is happening; and it was something so simple....the kids rode their bikes!
Hailey mastered the tricycle in my mothers house and was able to ride in the store, but she struggled outside at home. Kyle could ride the tricycle at my moms, but just couldn't master steering and pedaling....until yesterday! =)
The best part was Jay was there too. We both kept looking at each other so proud and amazed by these two little people. It was such a small moment that warmed both our hearts and made life a little bit more special. Who knew watching your babies riding bikes could be such a magical moment??
