Today we had Kyle's first kindergarten parent-teacher conference. I was so nervous. I always get nervous for these things.
What if they do mis-behave at school? What if they are not trying? What if they don't pay attention? So MANY What Ifs!!
When I first walked into the room and sat I was nervously awaiting all that Ms. Chandler would have to say. She pulled out his folder and the first thing she said was "Kyle. Oh, I love Kyle."
PHEW!!! fears subsided.
She told us how kind he is, how well he behaves, he listens and cares for others. Kyle works well independently and in groups and he is beginning to read!!
He needs work with his "O.T" (fine motor skills- writing mostly) but that in even just a few weeks she has seen a lot of improvement. Which also made me feel better because now I know he is actually improving and its not my "mommy love" creating improvement in my mind. I was surprised when she told me he sometimes would mix up letter sounds, only because every time I ask him he answers correctly and when he asks me he is always right. One example she gave me was that the letter "G" made a "J" sound...but now that I am home and think of it Kyle is right..."G" makes 2 sounds one of which sounds like "J"...like in GYM!
All in all we were right on the same page with his teacher her concerns were things we were aware of and he got positive reviews.
I couldn't be happier! So proud of Tidbit!
