I truly love the kids pre-school. One of the things the 3 and 5 day classes do is they allow each child a "Me Week" its an entire week all about them. They get to be the helper, and we as parents get to go in and see our little ones in action.
Thankfully the school allowed Hailey and Cole to come along too =)
We made 2 posters:
The ABC's of Kyle
and a collage of his life =)
The original plan was for his grandmother to go in 1 day and read to the kids, Wednesday bring in a fun craft for all the kids and Friday bring in cookies or cupcakes for the kids to decorate. Sadly, Kyle's "me week" got cut a little short. One day for snow and unfortunately (because I am a month and a half behind on this blog) I can't remember why he missed another day, but we made it work.
It was so fun going into the classroom to see what his day is like in school. Because it was his week he got to be the helper and point out the month, day, date and year on the chart; as well as discuss the letter of the day.
Next, he got to present his mystery box. The kids put whatever they want into this box and the other children try to guess what is in there. Kyle was just so excited for this. He talked about taking home the mystery box for weeks and weeks and when his time came to give clues he all but gave what was inside away with all his excitement. =)
His Angry Birds....OF COURSE!
Next we presented our craft. Kyle chose to bring in covered cups with straws. The children all had 3 pictures to choose from to color and wrap around their cup to create a cup all their own. I bought enough for his class, the other class, and their siblings....unintentionally. LOL!
Following the craft, Kyle presented his class with homemade chocolate chip cookies.
It was a lot to stuff into one day (especially with a 6 month old in tow) but just an incredible day. It was magical to see Kyle with his pre school friends and so special to have a little peek into what he is like in school when I am not around.
I love "me week" can't wait for Hailey's next year =)
