This 4th of July was completely different than any other 4th of July in my life. Why? I didn't celebrate...at all!! SO NOT LIKE ME!
The last few years we have gone to Falmouth to celebrate with Jay's family, and I LOVE it. With my due date so close we didn't think it would be a great idea to travel to Falmouth. That and with the heat being so extreme the last place I needed to be was somewhere without central A/C taking care and tending to my 2 little ones, while swollen and looking and feeling like an elephant.
My mother in law asked to take Kyle and Hailey with her to Falmouth; while Jay and I were sad to not be with our little ones, we both knew that they would have way more fun in Falmouth than hanging at home doing nothing with us. I was mostly upset I wouldn't see them in their July 4th outfits. LOL!
Not only did I think they would have way more fun there than here, but they have been asking to go to "The Cape House" for MONTHS so to deny them seemed cruel on all sorts of levels.
Of course, they had a BLAST! They went to the bike parade, the park, the beach, got ice cream, rode bikes, saw their Great Aunt and Uncle, went to the beach to see the fireworks; and their cousins Ryan and April went too which made it even more special for Kyle and Hailey.
What did Jay and I do? Well, my sister Katelin came over and we watched Jaws......ALL DAY! There was a Jaws marathon and we watched all of them lounging in the A/C. We did grill some burgers and dogs, and the most special part...we got ice cream from Trombetta's! See told ya the kids would have more fun in Falmouth! We didn't even watch the fireworks on TV.
Fortunately for me my sister in law kept posting pictures so I could see what the kids were up to, and there is no denying it....they had a blast!
So it was a dull July 4th for Jase and I but not for my little ones. Thanks DeVincent family for making yet another July 4th so special for Kyle and Hailey! They deserved it =)
