Today was a fun and memorable family day. I feel like it has been forever since we have done something out of the house just the 4 of us. Jay and I haven't been to the movies in a really long time, and we both thought The Lorax looked like a movie that would entertain the kids and us. We were a little nervous going in: Will they sit through the movie? Will they be quiet? Will they behave? It all went really well =) We went to the 10:45 showing thinking it wouldn't be too busy on a Sunday morning but the place was packed and full of kids so I didn't have to overly stress about them being quiet and perfect little toddlers, though they pretty much were =)
Of course me being me I took pictures of my babies at their first movie.
Granted, not good pictures, I was trying to not be too obvious, disturb those around me or look like the crazy mother that I am but at least I documented their first time at the theatre =)
They were so good. Hailey sat in her seat the best she could, it did try to fold her up a few times, it was entertaining. She just ate her M &M's sipped her water and watched the movie. Cuddling up to me every so often and saying "Mommy I love you." Kyle liked the movie but he wanted to play games. We would just remind him after the movie, and he would go back to watching. He talked a lot, but quietly, mostly commenting on the movie and asking if it was almost over. I was entertained watching him get up from his seat and going back to get a chip, or some popcorn. He wouldn't just hold it, he wanted to go back and forth. It was cute.
I am not sure if I watched the movie or the kids more. I have to admit I even teared up once just smiling at Jason with our 2 babies sitting between us. We have gone to the movies together there since we were 15 years old. It was the furthest apart we have ever sat from one another =). There was something really special about being there for the first time with our children.
After the movie we went to the game section but there was nothing there that really sparked Kyle's interest. I think he was looking for skeet ball. =) So it was off to Toys R' Us to get Jason, Kyle and Hailey new remote control cars to race with. After playing there for a little while we went to Old Navy and got Kyle a few more pairs of some much needed jeans. Next we went to Pet Smart to look at fish. Who needs to pay an arm and a leg to go to the aquarium when my kids are just as entertained at a pet store?!? We were going to take Ky to play games, but all of us were getting tired so we called it a day
It was just a special family first taking the kids to the movies. Looking at my husband and seeing 17 years of our life, in a theatre =) Looking at him and realizing how much we have grown up together and grown in our relationship and just being so blessed to be there with our beautiful babies.
I love my life! =)
This is a great post :) I loved the idea of never sitting that far away from each other. And you used to work at one! Loved it
