Ohhh Kyle

Everywhere we go, everyone we meet Kyle has to tell about the car.  "Our car caught on fire, and then BOOM and smoke, and Uncle Chris saved us"

For the most part people look at him and smile like :this little guy has quite the imagination; or what is this kid watching on TV"

Every time he tells someone I always get down to his eye level and tell him "Yes baby, but everyone got out of the car safely and we are all OK"  with a big hug and reassuring kiss.

I thought we were starting to move past all this but then there are little things.  He gets scared of the gas flame when I am cooking now.  But last night was the WORST!  I baked an apple pie and forgot to put it on a sheet so the spillover hit the bottom of the oven.  Smoke came billowing out and the fire alarm went off.

Kyle PANICKED!!  He ran to the door and out of the house and was hysterical.  It took a good 45 minutes for me to calm him down and assure him we were all OK and safe.

It just amazes me how much Thanksgiving effected all of us, but especially him.  I kind of thought: sure it will take a couple days but we will be OK.  Its taking a little longer than that.  Jason and I will reassure him everyday for the rest of his life if we have to.  I just can not believe how perceptive little ones are and the way things effect them.

I love my little man, and we'll get through this.
